Im doing the Oly this weekend. Volunteered at the first one. Swim is in salt water river. Water will be pretty calm and no real current. They put on a really nice race.

I've done 2 of the series. Water has been calm with no visibility at each race. Swim can get real congested at the buoys and some people complained of Jellyfish stings in both races. I had no problems with them, however. The bike course is through the community with lots of turns. You must stay in the bike lane, but I found no problems with that as you can go outside the lane to pass. The run is through the golf course along the cart path with water at mile 1,2 and 3. It's a small race and well organized with lots of volunteers, and they have a pretty good breakfast afterward in the Club Med dining hall. I've enjoyed both races and will do another one this fall

Hey thanks for the input.  I am looking forward to it.  I grew up in the are eons ago, so I was pretty sure there would be many turns through the community. blah Oh well, slower bike time for me, but fun for sure!

You don't have to be a member to race it, right? Membership is just for all the extra features inside the club right? That last email they sent looks like you have to be a member, or at least that's what I picked up from the context and writing style.

No, you don't have to be a member. All racers get a wrist band allowing them to take advantage of the breakfast in the dining room after the race. You can purchase a wrist band for friends/family allowing them to also have the breakfast. It's a fun race and you'll have a good time.

This is one of the best tris I've done this season.  They have another one in Sept and again in Nov.  Great course, great venue, great after race breakfast.  Really worth the cost.  They also have A 5k and 10 K on Sat before the Tri's.
