Swim
Comments: Had a pretty good swim. Shoulders got a little tired and got off course after the far buoy, but not too bad, easy corrections and I was back on track. What would you do differently?: Practice the open water swimming especially sighting. Work a little on shoulder stamina. It is so much different than the pool with everything that's going on around you. Transition 1
Comments: Time was incorporated into the bike. I am not worrying about times here right now. I am more concerned about getting through it feeling like it went well. And it did. What would you do differently?: Approaching transition I was a little discouraged with my tracking on the swim course so I was walking instead of jogging. Next time I need to let it go! It is a race and I am going to have issues at everyone of them, so let it slide and move on! Bike
Comments: Bike computer actually read 23.7km in 46min08s. What would you do differently?: Need to get out on my bike a little more. Road is much different than the trainer. Transition 2
Comments: Time was incorporated into the bike. Again, not worried about time here, just trying to be smooth and felt really good about it again. What would you do differently?: Stay smooth. Run
Comments: Just kept moving. What would you do differently?: Had a good run. I will continue to work on my speed. Post race
Warm down: Hydrate, munchies and relaxing with the family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Open water training, and not enough time in the saddle. Event comments: Fantastic race! My wife and I are planning to do it together next year! Last updated: 2011-02-02 12:00 AM

Had my mini wheats at about 6:30. Packed the van with all my gear (organized gear night before) and chearing squad! Got to race at about 7-7:15, marked, chipped and set-up by 7:30ish. Great venue.
Spent some time with the family. Got in the water about 10min before start and did a couple of out and backs, maybe 200m.
