Swim
Comments: Swim was better then I expected. Only lost form at one point when colliding with other competitors. What would you do differently?: Need to learn how to draft better. Could have pushed it more since I hardly kicked at all. Transition 1
Comments: Much better then my last race, but improvement is always needed. Still having trouble grabbing the zipper and getting it pulled down. Correctly remembered to get cap and goggles off during the run out of the water. Clicking in was slow once mounted. What would you do differently?: Run faster out of the water and get that suite zipped down quicker. Bike
Comments: Can still get better on the bike. Wanted to average 20+ Mph, but hill climbing needs to be better. Stayed aero 95% of the time which was good. What would you do differently?: Push the hills a little harder. Fuel up within the last few miles prior to the run. Transition 2
Comments: Felt that I had a fast T2, my best ever What would you do differently?: Run faster! Run
Comments: Some cramping during the run due to fatigue and not enough nutrition coming off the bike. What would you do differently?: Push the pace more in the second 3 miles of the race. I had more in the tank, but the cramps gave me some concern. Make sure to eat more on the bike so my energy was higher. Post race
Warm down: Recovery socks and a little stretching. Should have brought my tights and stretched more, legs are paying for it now. What limited your ability to perform faster: A feel for the distance and what it takes. First time doing an Olympic distance so now that I know the nuances of the distance, should be able to make use of my heart beats better and go faster. Event comments: Good first effort for the TriRock team. I will be back next year to improve on my time and hopefully move into the top 6 in my age group. Last updated: 2011-06-30 12:00 AM

Unloaded my things in transition and made sure I knew where the ride out/in spots where. Checked out the swim spot and identified the buoys and some landmarks to keep me on target.
Planned to eat a banana, but only dropped a couple of FRS chews instead.
Swam about 100 yards to get a feel for the water.
Should have stretched, but I didn't.
