Sprint here! Athena. I feel under trained so just finishing without keeling over is my goal.

I called Alum creek and asked the water temp on Monday and they said it was around 80. If this is the case that means no wetsuits. Or you can but you just cannot be eligible for awards?

The water is so hot you will overheat with a wetsuit.

Just got the emai with link to the athletes guide. This looks like hfp is going all out to produce a top notch no bs event, bs meaning blatant drafters. Getting unusually excited for this event. .... Adam

just read the pdf from hfp as well.

i am going to go drive to alum creek at noon saturday to check in and set up T1.

i assume someone will be there all night watching bikes.

i will ride a different bike to T2 after i get home to get my running shoes there.

i have never done a race where i have my stuff in a bag - i hate mysteries.

i am going to have a MUCH longer than normal T1 to put on ling tights and longsleeve top.  and then of course ride and run in them while it is 85 -ahh the sacrifices a superhero makes.

i figure if i start at 7:19 i will finish by 9:35.  i will ask my family to go to wilcox and High st. to watch bikes wizz by.  i should pass by them at or around 8:52.

for anyone who wants to watch:

if you wanna see bikes wizz by and avoid parking/trafic just park for free on a side street and plant yourself anywhere along high street btween green meadows drive (just south of powell rd.) and nationwide (downtown)  - my family will be in the 2400 block of n. high street

bikes should be on high street from 7:45 (pros on the north end)  to 10:30 (last Age groupers on the south end)

otherwise you can watch at swim + T1 or T2 to finish either way it may be a parking challenge. ride to watch if you can.

current temps have been below 78

i will bring the wetsuit in case i can use it.  i will prob still use the old shirt because it is cooler.

i am not doing fins on the chance i could use the wetsuit.

Doing the Tri for the Cure tomorrow. Haven't trained much due to injury so decided to do something short and sweet.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Brue, seeing as your the only superhero signed up, your going to win a wetsuit. Didn't you used to dislike the idea of using a wetsuit?

Swam last night- it was soooo hot in the water.  At this point, I will bring the wetsuit but I'm not sure if I'm going to use it or not.

Picked up my race packet when I was out there...now I need to read the directions and figure out what I need.  I hate having to wear numbers!  Maybe I'll pick up a race belt today at Second Sole in Delaware, I dislike having to pin stuff to my kit.

So you wouldn't recommend a full sleeve suit even if it's legal?........ Adam

I did the women's tri for the cure this morning and I definitely wouldn't have wanted a wetsuit.  I thought the water was really comfortable, but would have been too hot in a wetsuit.

The race this morning was great (except my under-training for the run)!  Good luck to everyone tomorrow :-)

your memory is good

i still don't like wetsuits but it got to a point that i was disadvantaged in the swim because my cometition was wearing them.

they are legal cheating -I suppose if EVERYONE has one it is fair but not everyone does.

I am the only superhero?  is there a participant list?

-oh i just found it.  that can't be right.  well i am going to race as though the the legion of doom is bearing down on me anyway.
