Pre-race routine:

continue hydrating- gatorade, water, cliff bar
Event warmup:

set up transition, light 5min jog. looked like I jumped out of pool after 5min run
Swim
  • 10m 58s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

felt good in water but was not a good swim. continue to see improvement in pool but open water still stinks. good news is sighting was good and goggles did not fog up or leak.

What would you do differently?:

need to keep practicing and doing more yards. get more open water swims in. of the top 5 in my AG I was second slowest. in a race where 1st and 5th in my AG was 50seconds, I should be able to easily get that off of my swim
Transition 1
  • 01m 24s
What would you do differently?:

59th OA. went to wrong bike rack out of the water. not muh else. Once I got to my bike all went well
Bike
  • 28m 49s
  • 11.5 miles
  • 23.94 mile/hr
Comments:

very good bike. tried to push a bit after disappointing swim but was in control throughout. fastest bike split in a tri. passing people 2-3 waves a head of me
What would you do differently?:

maybe drink a little more
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

went very smooth 45th OA
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 20m 54s

Comments:

brutally hot out there. time was a little slower than I hoped for but considering temps I was ok with it
Post race
Warm down:

stretch and eat
left house @ 167lbs. Drank 20oz water and 20oz gatorade pre race + GU Roctane. on bike: 20oz GU Brew, Carbo Pro, electrolyte mix. Run: water at every station. Post Race 1 slice pizza, 2 cookies, 1 can diet pepsi, 2 bottles water. Lunch on way home: turkey hoagie, bottle water, slice of pizza. Body weight 164lbs.
