TriMyApparel - 2011-08-04 8:52 AM 9 News has the high at 94 on Sunday. Thank god I am the second to last wave or else I might have missed all of the heat.

Do I sense sarcasm, Will?  Come on dude, you're a Marine!

Tons of sarcasm. I really hate going out last, especially when I will be kicked out of transition at 6:30 and have to wait over an hour. That wait gets a little boring. But of course I will suck it up and have fun.

Good luck to all of you!

Will, I know what you are saying about being in one of the last waves.  That happened to me last time I did Boulder LC.  The nice thing though is that there are some many people that have started ahead that I seem to pass more people that I normally would.  Anyway, I hope you guys get some cloud cover for the run!

Oh that would be heavenly! Don't know if you planned on doing this one, but hope you are healing well.

Just got back from registration a while ago. They had not ruled out the use of wetsuits yet. We'll find out tomorrow. It was hot at around noon and when the sun was behind the minimal cloud cover, it felt great. Off to get all my stuff packed. Best of luck everyone!

Well, first HIM in the books. That was sort of brutal. I guess if it was easy everyone would do it. Not quite sure what to think of it all. Well it was a great event, awesome volunteers, and awesome competitors. My friends Ben and Jerry just left, time to crash.

First HIM in the books for me too. Agreed on the great volunteers. And that it got brutal once the heat started to climb steeply. People who started later really had a disadvantage (I was lucky, my wave wasn't too late.)

And another first timer here...wow...not sure what else to say. Finished but it wasn't pretty. Swim was good, flat on the bike at mile 44 and walked pretty much the entire "run". But I finished and am very happy about it. Great volunteers, nice people. My thanks to the guy I chatted with while finishing the last 3 miles! Not sure if he's on BT but if you are, You rock! Made the last 3 mile speed by....well has fast as 14-15 minute miles can speed by.

Nice humility. Awesome time. I was in your wave. Would have been nice to meet. You passed me on the bike about 5 minutes in.... and then you were probably one of the ones whizzing by me on you second lap as  I was just starting to die on my first run lap.

Um, yeah. That kinda sucked! I know it was hot last year, but this year seemed soooooo much worse. I know I was kind of undertrained for the run, but blech. 15 minutes slower than last year. Why, oh why, couldn't we have had those lovely 80 degree temps from last week?? Tongue out

Congrats to everyone.... does anyone know how many started or how many DNFs there were? In the other races that was up, but the results now for the 70.3 are for those that finished.

Yep.... we missed all that great weather by two days.... oh so close!

thanks, just wanted to know how big it was... and ya.. Andy didn't DNF cause he messed up... things happen. Everyone that walked up to the starting line has their own success story this year. Here's to many more.
