Subject: Leads on tri clothes for tall Athena's?
I'm tall (5'11") and proud of it.  But I'm having a heck of a time finding clothes that fit my long torso.  I've pretty much given up the idea of a tri suit and am looking into tri top/shorts combos.  Any suggestions?

I'm 6' tall so I'm using a 2XU men's suit.  It works great for me. See avatar.

I'm tall also (5'10") and have found the Zoot tri-suits fit well.  However, I prefer wearing a 2 piece (makes potty breaks much simpler). My favorite tri and bike shorts are from Shebeest.  I have a variety of tri tops, which are just ok... a lot of them are short and ride up on me.  I found a great tank top, Perfect Core Racerback, from Lucy Sportswear.  It's long, great compression and does NOT ride up.

I'm 5'9 with a disproportionately long body.  My suit is top/shorts seperate.  Peal Izumi.  the shirt is *just* long enough and doesn't ride up on the bike.  I just got it this year and I can happily report no low back burn so far this year!

I have a couple of Zoot tops - see photo and a new DeSoto Carrera tank I like a LOT! Wore it today and the best thing is that it flares just a little at the hip so it doesn't ride up as much.

Musicodm - I thought about buying a men's tri suit but decided against it as I thought the fitting would be all wrong for the "lumps & bumps"!! How does it fit for you? How does the sizing compare? Thanks!

Well I tried on an XL in Women's and it was exhausting.  The shelf bra is a joke (for me) and made it impossible to get into.  I can see that causing problems having to use the bathroom.

The XL in men's was of course bigger.  I felt much more comfortable in the men's suit.  It certainly doesn't hold the girls UP but it is tight all over and I wear an Enel bra under it.  The great thing is that the cut of the top almost completely covers the bra (I'm turning into my mother not wanted to show my bra straps   )

I've got a long torso - I felt....secure/confident in it.  I think I would have been much more self conscious in the women's xl.

Thank you - is it the one you're wearing in your profile photo? It looks nice. The ones I've looked at in the men's range look masculine... All in black... I'll have to keep looking - but I've only got 2 wks to go and a relatively small budget!!Thanks again,Lynda.

The one in my pic is the one.  They came in black, blue and red I think. Good luck!

I ended up going with a full zip tri top with tri club logo (because it didn't have the built in bra which I hate) from Pactimo (don't know if they do retail or only custom orders) and just standard compression shorts.

But, when I was looking for something I found Danskin ran pretty long in the torso for their tri suits.  I am 5'11" and had to size down to a M where I am usually an XL in tri clothes.

I also saw that sportsbasement.com is offering free shipping and returns.  They have a pretty decent selection of tri apparel so you could order a few items and pick what fits the best and ship the rest back.  If you are an AAA auto member you can get an additional 10% off (at least you do in store).

I finally got a Zoot tri suit from Amazon. It's a bit of a struggle getting on (!) but feels good once it's on. I did a complete run thru of my sprint wearing I last weekend and it felt really comfortable - the leg grippers are particularly good. The internal bra is useless for my size so I will still be wearing my beloved Enell bra under it. 2nd sprin tri on Sunday.

Sorry for coming to this thread kind of late, but I'm 6' and found that Danskin had a tri suit (separate top and shorts) that fit me well length-wise, both in the torso and the length of the shorts.
