Subject: Cycling Lactate Threshold vs. Running Lactate Threshold
I am having my LT testing completed in a lab next week (bike). Can someone help me understand how I may be able to approximate my RUNNING LT based on my bike LT??...Or is that not possible? I don't have access to have the running tested so I am trying to see if one can help the other? Thanks

I could be wrong, but I do believe they are two different numbers.  One doesn't have anything to do with the other, so I don't think you can take your bike LT and covert it to run LT.  Different motions and muscles used.... requires two different LT test, to my knowledge.

IIRC your running LTHR will be about 10 units higher than your cycling rate.  I might be wrong, most likely I am

Normally that's a pretty safe bet. However, there are annomalies. Mine is almost 20bpm higher for running.

I find this to be true for me as well.  My running LTHR is 10 BPM higher than my Bike, having done the field tests that I found here on BT.

I think I have seen GENERALIZATIONS in past threads that one threshold is USUALLY ABOUT x% below or above the other.

.....and there you have it....

That's about normal.
