Comments: Poor hydration due to the combination of elevation, heat, and course technicality. I wasn't expecting the bottom portion of the course to be as technical. As a result, I had to wait for opportune times to drink, which got me behind. Very frustrating since I was leading after two laps. I bonked pretty hard on the climb of the third lap and lost my position all the way to fourth What would you do differently?: More water intake. Post race

Had to wake up early to drive about three hours to the venue. Going from sea level to 7,800 feet on race morning is not the best idea!
Normal pre-race meal: peanut butter toast with a banana and coffee. Prior to race, about 8 ounces of water and some gel.
A little out of the norm for me, but my buddy want to ride some of the course. Rode about half of the course.
