Not really, my brother and cousin are over there, and myself and my other brother have served, along with my father, step dad, mom, uncles, grandpa's, grandma's, I feel your pain and I know what deployment is all about on both ends.  Life is what you make it, so don't let the departure determine what your day will be like, let everyday be an adventure and do something different.

Thinking of you and your family. Having been in your spot before I can remember what this day is like. Hugs to you! Praying for his safe return.

I was just on the phone with my friend and realized the 2 biggest problems in my life are some latex paint on my car body and a cloudy pool which needs new filter cartridges. That's it. So, basically, life is pretty fantastic.

Thank you to your husband and to your family for the sacrifices you make so that the above scenario is my status quo.

Today, not soo much. Yesterday was pretty crappy.

The father of one of my closest friends passed away after fighting cancer for 2.5 years. I was fairly close to my friend's father. He was my boss and mentor in my first sales job for almost 4 years.

Tri-mama - keep the training going to pass the time.

I'm having a crappy 4 days - my kids (17 and 19 yo) and a friend went to Savannah for an interview my daughter had on Friday.  Was supposed to stay till Saturday (we live in Atlanta - 4 hour drive).  Her car broke down on Friday.  She left it at a Ford dealership.  They said they didn't have the part and it would be fixed on Monday.  Today is Monday and they can't get the part till tomorrow.

That's about $700 to fix the car and now I'm up to 3 nights in a motel and fast food for two. Not to mention the stress of them being stranded so far away.  Did I say how UNTHRILLED they are??

tri-mama we love you and thank you for your family's sacrifice <3 - keep your chin up!

I was supposed to get home last night from a short vacation but my first flight was delayed due to a crew staffing issue (how do they NOT realize this before they board the entire plane??). A 2-hour delay meant most everyone missed connections in Dallas. Luckily though, I was traveling with a friend whose Dad lives in Dallas and he insisted we stay with him instead of the unknown hotel the airline gave us vouchers for - people in this world are so awesome!

Finally got home today (had to use another 1/2 day vacation, booo) to find my electricity is out, which means the air conditioning was not running. If you didn't know, I live in the HEAT DOME of Kansas this summer. It is 107 degrees right now, but the house was only up to 85 degrees at 11 this morning. Hoping it has kicked back on by the time I get off work.

It's definitely MONDAY!

Not having a crappy day, but wanted to say, both my wife and I have served and have been in the same situation you are in, (UK rather than US military) firstly many thanks to your husband for his service but also a huge thank you to you for your support, the people who provide the security we enjoy need the support given from the families they leave at home, you can be sure there are many, many people who appreciate your contribution.....

Still sucks I know.......

I hope he stays safe, keeps his butt down and comes home well.

Thanks to both of you for your service.  I still remember the feeling when I would leave for a deployment back in my Navy days and it sucks.

My prayers go out to you and your family for a speedy and safe return.

wow, I was going to say yes, we had to file a police report for a guy that exposed himself in the swim lane next to us today (twas an interesting experience)

but having seen first hand all the families sending off and getting their service members back, I salute you and your husband.  I hope his tour is a speedy one for you both, and that God watches over you, him, and your family.

I am fortunate in that I have never had to experience what you must be feeling today.  I pray for your husband's safety.  I thank him for serving our country and I thank you for standing beside him.  God bless our soldiers and their families.
