Just signed up! Who else is in for this year?

This race is close to me, and I like the town of Lake Worth.

I'm in...    Construction at the race start should be interesting as they have entire site torn down.    That said, should be fun and it is 10 minutes from home so cant resist.

debating this one.  I'll be returning from out of town Sat night, plane lands at about 11pm if on time.  figure i can have my transition bag packed before i leave and bike ready to go, and just operate on not much sleep.  deal breaker would be no race day packet pickup.  I can't remember if they have it or not.

I have had no problems picking up my packet on race day. It's what I'm planning to do as I have to work on Sat. evening.

Picked mine up on race day last year. Shouldn't be a problem. You can go straight to the pier from the airport and be the first to set up!!Smile

OWS at Lake Worth beach today. TONS of Moon jellyfish. I am pretty sure they don't sting and by the time I get in the water, hopefully the previous waves will have washed them away or thrashed them to pieces!

Jellies have been bad at Singer Island all summer.  Heard from some friends that there weren't any around yesterday.  Guess they migrated south.

I'm with you on hoping that the earlier waves help clear them out.

BTW - I can't pick up my packet until Sunday morn.  LW Chamber said to get there about 5:30a.  If anyone who picks up on Sat can post the wave times, that would be helpful.

Dang.

My first DNS. I've been battling a head cold and a cough since midweek, and while I'm getting better, I still have a cough. I really wanted to race today, but the last time I tried to keep training and racing through a lingering cold I ended up with bronchitis and was out for almost two weeks.

I may not be all that smart, but I learn from my mistakes.

I still went to the race and cheered for everyone though. The swim looked suprisingly rough and it seemed much windier at the beach than at my house, only a mile inland. Hope everyone had a good race!

The swim was a little rough, but I didn't notice any current to speak of. I really felt the wind coming back over the bridge...felt the bike pushed sideways a couple of times. It was nice that the downpour waited until I was finished, as it wouldn't have been pretty out on the course in all that rain!
