Well, who's racing this weekend in Bracebridge?

I am signed up for the OLY, which has Age Group qualifying spots for the AG World Championships.

Unfortunately, I am also very poor and can't afford accommodations. Will be driving from Waterloo to the race site at around 3:45am (~265km drive, or 2hrs 45min). Yah for being a grad student!

I'll bite, if weather holds up, I'll drive up and register for Oly tomorrow.  Just planning to finish, not to race, as my sprained wrist has not fully recovered from the crash at Gravenhurst.  Do you plan to take the spot if you qualify?
Perhaps we'll bump into each other, I'll be wearing my old red Cdn team trisuit and riding a white/silver Trek Speed Concept with disc wheel.

I plan on racing as if I was aiming to get a spot, although I do not intend on taking one. I just will like to be humbled by the amazing athletes in my Age Group (keeps me working hard in the off season!).

I'll be sporting a University of Waterloo Triathlon full suit, Trek 5000 roadie, SRAM S60 wheels.

Hope to see you there!

How was it?

I was there - my first OLY. I felt pretty good the entire time, however my swim turned out to be pretty slow, super slow in fact. May be because I was not wearing the wet-suit..I passed 17 people on the run though.

I got under my goal time, so I am very happy!

sucks about your swim, I really enjoyed my swim. Mostly the lack of getting punched in the face at the start due to the time trial format.

Great day overall... it was really hot during awards presentation, I was pouring sweat!

Congrats on your first oly.  Many people I know who didn't wear a wetsuit, including me, thought the swim time was much slower than expected.  Except Chris, of course, who came 1st AG on the swim.  Nice to meet you Chris, and congrats on a great race.  It was a great day for a race, rain held off, TT start was most civilized, a very fair course for prov championships.  I am pleasantly surprised I came in 2nd AG.  Race report is here - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=264128
