Swim
Comments: Water was nice, but shallow. I don't think it was as long as they said it was. I was able to calm down and find my pace this time. Last race the swim was a disaster so I really felt good about this. I did not push my speed because I just wanted to find my rhythm. What would you do differently?: I just need to keep training and work on getting faster. Transition 1
Comments: I felt great, ran with my bike. What would you do differently?: Work on starting with shoes on bike. Bike
Comments: Bike felt awesome. I pushed myself much harder than the first race. I passed a lot of people. This has become my strong spot for the time being. What would you do differently?: Shoes on bike, get my average speed up. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had serious stomach cramps. I really could have taken more time off of my run. I felt like I was thirsty but my stomach was just killing me. What would you do differently?: Not sure, I think I over hydrated but it still is my fasted 5k time. Post race
Warm down: Cold towel, goofy pictures, straight to beer tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: Stomach cramps Event comments: I met some great folks at the beer tent and we ended up swimming another mile in the lake afterward. Second race ever, 1st completely by myself. Got there early, got set up, sat and watched the sun come over the calm lake. It was a beautiful morning.
Just the 40 minute walk to the race from my parking spot and some stretching.
