Bike it got up to 82 with heat index of 88

Swim
  • 16m 4s
  • 532 meters
  • 03m 01s / 100 meters
Comments:

Took goggles off in first 100m, fogged up. Swam like a turtle with head up entire time.
What would you do differently?:

work on breathing and keeping face in water
Transition 1
  • 03m 1s
Comments:

All was good except the sudden stop by officers for traffic to cross at the start of the course.
I took my time and didn't run obviously I could take off time here.
What would you do differently?:

Just speed up
Bike
  • 39m 23s
  • 13.46 miles
  • 20.51 mile/hr
Comments:

Once on the course the loop was good, only a couple flats around me. Speed was better than expected and I actually enjoyed being around other cyclist for the first time.
It wasn't too hot yet and the wind helped with that. I think this was my best part averaging over 20mph for the entire course on my X bike
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder and not stay behind people to long.
Transition 2
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

Again took my time, drank a little before heading out for the run.
What would you do differently?:

Just speed up
Run
  • 44m 23s
  • 3.68 miles
  • 12m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

Dead leg run, though I didn't stop I could have pushed myself a lot more.
This is easily the biggest overall improvement I can make.
What would you do differently?:

Run with a purpose
Post race
Warm down:

just walk around a bit drink some water eat an orange and relax with my family.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mentality and breathing.
It was my first course and now that it's complete I feel my confidence will go up which will help with my mentality. Breathing is more of an issue in the water and thus I will train more for that. I hadn't swam but a couple time 3 weeks prior to race and never swam properly just recreationally before.

Event comments:

This was the perfect atmosphere and location for my first race. The post race was nice and I met a lot of good people. Best part of the race "When my 2 boys ran across the finish line with me"
