Subject: Star Triathlon in Manchester?
Thinking of attempting the Star as my first triathlon.  Any reviews of the race?  I'm only concerned with the swim and chose this one due to the very short course (200M).  Seems like a pretty small race in terms of participants.  Is this a good beginner race?

Do it!!  A wonderful event for beginners.  Very well run, great support crew, bike course is mostly flat, run is a bit rolling but enjoyable.  I really liked sitting in the wading pool afterward, closest thing to an ice bath I'll ever do.  I've done it the past two years, would do it again but I have other plans.  You won't regret making this your first one!!  Be sure to write back and give a race report.

I agree. My wife and I did it last year. The bike is flat except for the first and last mile. Not too many participants. Overall, a very fun experience.
