Event warmup:

10 Minute jog and some Yoga
Swim
  • 10m 15s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 34s / 100 meters
Comments:

The swim includes the run-up from the water exit to the transition area. This was from a dock , along a boardwalk, across a street and finally into transition. My watch gave me a 8:45 swim so I had a 1:30 run-up.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Felt this was the best swim of the year.

  • 01m 7s
Bike
  • 22m 16s
  • 10 kms
  • 26.95 km/hr
Comments:

Held my own in the bike and actually picked up a spot.
What would you do differently?:

I could've raced a bit more.
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Run
  • 12m 51s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 05m 08s  min/km
Comments:

Slight hills at the beginning slowed my "getting up to speed" feeling.
What would you do differently?:

Train hills!!!
Post race
Warm down:

Yoga

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of proper training for the course. I didn't prepare for hills.

Event comments:

Excellent race on a hot day in cottage country. Will definitely be back next year.

Course: The start of the course was a bit awkward with the middle of the street coned off for the bikes to allow traffic both ways. However once we exited the side streets in town and were on our way down the main stretch it was a very pleasant ride with little rolling rises and very little traffic.
