Finally did it

I remember my first exposure to a triathlon was watching Mike Pigg in the late '80s run the Kona Ironman. I've always had respect for triathlons and triathletes since that time.

I've competed at a very high level of sports and performed an extremely phyically stressful job in the military however I never could pull the trigger on trying a triathlon.

Finally at the friendly behest of a good friend, I was dared into training and participating in my first triathlon, the mountain lakes tri in Guntersville, AL. I didn't get to train for it as much as I would have liked but I accomplished all of my goals. I finished, I didn't finish last, and I never quit.

Now I'm hooked. I only wish I didn't wait 26 years to try it but better late than never!!
