compression shorts under running shorts for training runs?

If you're comfortable running in public with just the tri-shorts,  look at roadrunnersports for their housebrand running tights.  They don't have the compression of true compression shorts but they are a good weight and a decent price $35.00.   I've got a couple of pair that I use for daily 30-60min runs and save the nice compression for my longer runs(anything over 1hr). 

Personally I don't like the "bulky" feel of tights and shorts when worn together.   That crotch climbing is rough.

haha!  I said I like running in them, I should have also mentioned that I am horribly self conscious when doing so...  package viewability issues....

I will get some wicking briefs and some running shorts without liner and see what it is...

I wear UA compression shorts and UA running shorts every time I run, I like the extra support and feels better for me. If the shorts had a liner in them then I would only wear the linered shorts. I'm just out to run but my wife worries that my package is to "bulgie" but when I'm running that's the last thing on my mind so if I were you I wouldn't worry about visability

I run in the pearl izumi infinity compression shorts.  I don't wear any other shorts over them (cause you're not supposed to ) you can get them on roadrunner.com for like $38 with a coupon.  I tried some lower cost ones and they rubbed a little still on longer runs (chaffing where you don't want chafing) and the seams pulled apart on me.  So I went with the PI.  They have a liner that helps to cut down on the rubbing.

One piece of advice I received that helped me out a while back was to not get shorts with seams between the legs.  They are very few and far between, but I have found it to be true for my particular case.

I used to do wear UA shorts underneath my running shorts and let's just say I discovered a HORRIBLE seam that runs down the middle (of you know what) that likes to become a chainsaw after an extra long run.  NEVER AGAIN. NEVER.

Now, I don't wear underwear when I run, liner or no liner.  Best feeling ever.  I always use bodyglide though.

Best shorts ever

I wear compression shorts under my loose shorts. When I am competing I would wear my tri shorts.

I have compression shorts from Target and Walmart. My walmart stuff is older and looser now. I have also lost weight so they are looser because of that. it feels weird to run with out compression shorts. I am thinking about getting a pair of running shorts with the brief built in but have not yet done so. I would imagine it would feel similar to my bike shorts which is close to wearing nothing.
