Subject: Ankle pain
I have been working on BRICKs the past couple of weeks and i am having shocking ankle pain when I transition from bike to run. The pain goes away after three or four minutes, but it is intense for those few minutes. I only run as training, so I don't know if this pain would occur without the bike segment. Anyone else have this issue or have suggestions for fixing this? I am running in asics 2150 shoes and am a definite pronator with a history of patella femoral disorder. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like plantar fasciitis. I realize that the pain is probably not in your plantar, but it often isn't. How new are your shoes? Stretching your calved 5-6 times a day should help a ton.

Go to a podiatrist. I just did and found that I might have a small piece of bone pushing on the tendon. Better to know than to guess and be wrong.

I had PF pain a long time ago...I didn't remember it feeling like this, but that is definitely a possibility. My shoes were new in December. I wear them with green Superfeet and I did almost no impact exercise in them until May. Winter months I am mostly on the trainer and ellipical at the gym. Maybe time for a Superfeet change? I will work on more stretching! Thanks!

Plantar Fascitis does NOT cause ankle pain.  It causes FOOT pain, specifically pain in your heel.   I'd go see a doctor to be sure there is not something going on ESP if you have a history of previous ankle injury.  Could be a bike fit issue also
