Total Time = 1h 31m 23s
Overall Rank = 28/97
Age Group = 40-49
Age Group Rank = 6/12
Pre-race routine:

Packed up the night before. Had a greek yogurt and a diet dew when I got up. Drank some water and a little gatorade during the 1/2 hr drive.
Event warmup:

Just walking around and talking to the other competitors.
Swim
  • 12m 23s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 29s / 100 yards
Comments:

The pool swim made for lots of waiting around. I was near the front of the pack, but did not get into the pool until about 40' after the start.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Need to work on swim form alot.
Transition 1
  • 01m 49s
Comments:

Faster than my first tri. Wore my socks with my tri bike shoes, even though I had been biking without socks for a while.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe tri a race sans socks on the bike.
Bike
  • 50m 5s
  • 15 miles
  • 17.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Kept a pretty steady pace. Passed a few people and got passed by a couple. Brought 1 bottle of gatorade for the ride; seemed to be about right.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Need to work on bike power for hills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Went pretty smooth.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Run
  • 26m 3s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Took it easy. The run seemed to be a little less taxing than my first tri back in July. Ran the entire distance; no walking. The last 1/4m was on the high scool track. Had a decent amount of energy left so I tried to kick it a little on the track. Felt pretty good. Did not drink much on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on getting a little more fluid down during the run, especially as I move up to longer races.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and sat in the shade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training.

Event comments:

Good race. Speedy-Feet and the volunteers did a great job. The only downside is the pool swim which makes for a long wait for those at the back of the swim queue. Bike route was fast and straight. Good smooth roads. The run route was shaded and flat. The route had lots of turns, so you had to really pay attention to the markings.
