I saw that. I would bet that person only completed 1 lap. My father says one guy got out and asked if we had to do 2 laps. He looked sad when he was told yes...

I did 11 triathlons this year. Work got in my way of Square Lake Tri.
Next year I'll scale down a little for more training and resting days.
This year was a fun one.

I plan/hope to buffalo oly again next year also.  I am definitely going to maximize the race calendar and squeeze in as many races as possible next year.

11 triathlons, plus TNT.  wow.  I did 7 and i felt like that was a lot.  I am going to try and squeeze in a couple of more next year.  maybe a duathlon, but what fun is it, in not swimming......

But i definitely have my motivation to work hard over the winter. Me and the bike trainer are going to have a little battle i think.

congrats to all that participated.

One last thought on the matter.  Obsessing about the results reminded me of a women who passed me on the last mile.  It made me think holy cow i need to get through this.  I know there are a lot of great stories at most races.  This one just struck me a little, when she went flying by me. I definitely did a double take.

In reference to your winter comment, someone on BT had a signature for quite awhile that said "Triathlon is a winter sport that is contested in the summer." I love that quote.

I have seen that, and agree with that, so much. I virtual made no gains during the race season. Just a few tweaks from race to race. All my gains were from actually working out over the winter.

Plus 4 road races and 3 indoor triathlons Smile

In Cat5 road races, I've got dropped in first 2 miles. I blamed on my old bike Yell
