Subject: WTB - Specialized (or other) Women's road saddle

I'm looking to buy a Specialized Women's road saddle for my wife. I'm thinking along the lines of a Ruby or something, but not the Jett (I've heard it's too hard). I might be interested in another women's saddle, too (Felt, Bontrager, etc.).

Anybody have one they took off of their bike and is just gathering dust?

Saddles are personal...she may like it or she may not.  She's better off going to a shop that has a good return policy and let her test them out.  Ruby saddles, Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow, Selle Italia Diva are great choices, so is Terry Butterfly (which what I have, but it's just slightly too small).  So she may have a lot bigger sitbones, or a lot smaller.

FWIW - just tell her that you'll buy a saddle for her, but let her pick/try them out.

FYI...the Ruby is firmer and has less padding than the Jett.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just looking for a cheap, women's-specific saddle until my wife gets some miles under her and can make a good decision on what to ride. If I ask her right now, she'll choose one of those 12" wide beach-cruisers with 1" gel padding I figured someone would have something they took off of their bike that they would be willing to part with cheap. I bought her a 2011 Felt Z5 because the 2011 ZW5's are unavailable. I found a pair of women's handlebars to replace the stock ones, now just need to find a seat.

Thanks also for the info on the Ruby. The reviews I read said it was softer than the Jett. I'll have to keep that in mind.
