Had you asked me before you asked me, I would have said no. But now that you have asked me, yes, I have heard of it.

I don't know what it is, though. The store for NBC?

I was fishing for a lot of No answers.

Here's how my brain works.  ShopNBC is the third largest home shopping network behind QVC and HSN.  They are also my employer.  I never see them advertised anywhere.  I'm not sure I would have even heard of them in my day to day existence had I not been looking for a job as a photographer.

Today's top deal is this hair removal system thing.  I got to wondering, would triathletes and cyclists be interested in something like this?  Then I thought, I bet triathletes and cyclists have never even heard of shopNBC.  Thus my simple question was born..

Don't tell my boss, but I hate home shopping networks, I LOVE my job though.  Sit in a studio all day taking pictures and photoshopping and doing freelance work on the side.  My dream job would be Peby's!

That said, I'm kind of addicted to gearscan.com and cleansnipe.com..  I'll present these websites to my management..

Nope, had never heard of it.  I would have assumed it is where I could buy DVD sets of Seinfeld or The Office for 5x the price I could get them at Wal Mart of Best Buy.

I had never heard of it until I met someone who worked there, years ago.  Then I promptly forgot about it unless he came up in conversation.   Then I met you and again still have never looked into any further.

I just now went to the web site for the first time.

I shop online a LOT and this never comes up in a search result, like Amazon, Yahoo, or eBay does for instance.

I just did a search for "total body hair removal system" on Yahoo, words I took directly from your home page, and didn't get a shopnbc hit.

I am thinking that your web people need to work a LOT harder on how their site is being searched, metadata, etc.   If I was in the market for hair removal, and maybe heard something about something a friend bought, I would do this search.    And I'd now be researching Epilady and buying it from eBay.    Too bad, because the pics on your site are really lovely and are being wasted...

Thanks for your input.  ShopNBC's main focus is on TV.  We are a 24 hour live television station.  Our web-side of the business is steadily growing though.. I will be bringing your suggestions to my next meeting too!

I thought I read somewhere that most television shopping happens at night. I am guessing that asking this of a group that gets up at 5:00 am (or earlier, I hear) to start their day with a run, then family, work, swim, pack for workout next day, is probably in bed by 9.   I bet there are other forums frequently by night owls (no suggestions, sorry) who might have people who've heard of it.

I've never, personally, shopped in that way and wouldn't consider it now with the internet at my disposal.   Especially since I do the majority of my shopping at work and I don't have a TV there

yes. It's one of the channels I deleted from my guide on DirecTV as it's never going to be watched. Besides, QVC has hot hostesses; that I'll watch.
