I was planning on doing the full but I got a little dose of reality at IMC (DNF'd) and really want a race I can finish and enjoy.

No worries Janelle, we will have a great time in Miami the next weekend!  Hey Haley, maybe you should join the Miami Party.

Did you ride the recently revised course? Apparently they're going back to the 2004 course but either way, the hills are still there including everyone's favorite climb up Sugarloaf!

Peter,  I'm looking at the 2 different course maps (I had the old one printed out) and I can't decide which course is tougher.  Without riding both, I think they are about even.  Plus' and minuses on both.  The one piece of advice I would give is that as you are coming around the lake at the beginning, make sure you get in a granny gear before taking the left on Jalarmy.  It's very short but steep and catches a lot of people off guard as they are hammering around the lake.  Good luck to everyone coming this way....Brett

We have ridden both courses.  The latest one doesn't go around the lake, but out to never land and back.  There are a few rollers, and a couple of tight turns with immediate hills.  Make sure ya'll wear sunscreen!  I was COOKED last weekend!!

You might want to check back to see if you rode the latest.  It looks like Fred didn't post the new course maps until this past Monday, the 26th.  I could easily be wrong though.

The 2004 course has the dreaded SR19 on it (yuck!) I am just waiting for someone to get squished like a bug (hopefully it won't be me). I agree about the hill on Jalarmy it is quite steep but short. What stinks is the Buckhill rollers right before Sugarloaf.

I rode the 56 mile course today & you're right about those Buckhill rollers! Sugarloaf wasn't as bad as I remember, the 3 climbs on Buckhill are what threw off my momentum. Got back into on the backside of Sugarloaf. My guess is that riders new to the course will hammer the 1st 30 miles unsuspecting Buckhill & Sugarloaf.
