Subject: 2012 events calendar

Here is a list of Triathlons (and a couple of runs) in the KC area that I have compiled for 2012. 

(April 14 "Rock the Parkway" run, April 29 "Trolley Run")

 May 13: Heritage Park Triathlon

May 20:  KC Triathlon

June 10: KC Corporate Challenge Triathlon

July 8:    Shawnee Mission Triathlon

July 15:  Midwest Mayhem Triathlon

Aug 19:  Jackson County Triathlon

Aug 26:  Midwest Meltdown 

 

Please let me know if I left any out.

Might want to add the following:

Olathe Marathon (Full, Half and 5K):  April 21, 2012

IMKS 70.3, Lawrence:  June 10, 2012

Last year I wanted to do Corporate challenge but I was signed up for IMKS HIM.  Looks like they're doing that to me again.

Depends on what the radius is... are you including Lawrence, Emporia, Wichita? Missouri races within a certain distance? Only triathlons, or run races too?

This web site actually has a great race finder tool... click on the "RACES" button up top and it will let you filter by state, type of race, radius, etc.

For example, here is a search I did for races in Kansas from March through October of this year. Might give you an idea of how large your list could grow.

How did you fiind KC tri date. I tried via google and nothing came up. 2012 date has not been announced yet, or you have an inside source. Thanks.

No inside info. I just sent an email to the contact person on the 2011 website and asked for the 2012 date.

Are people already signing up for Kansas 70.3 ? I was disappointed when I signed up early for Branson and then only to find a $75 discount code a month out from race day. Grr...

Little tip about IM KS - in the 4 years they have had the race, it's never sold out.  You should be ok if you wait a while to enter.  I don't think they lowered the price at all this year for IM KS in the days before the race.
