Relaxed, ate a mix of protien fat and carbs.
Swim
  • 32m 37s
  • 2112 yards

Comments:

The swim was not a triangle. It went out strait then turned right then turned around. This would have been better if they just made a triangle.
What would you do differently?:

Sight on the turnaround buoys and not the buoys along the route.

Comments:

rode well. Still need to work on endurance. Leggs a little tired at the end of the bike.
What would you do differently?:

take it a little slower on the hills on the way out.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
What would you do differently?:

sweep the transition area.

Comments:

Could not breathe. Felt like I had congestion in my chest. I was breathing hard while walking.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

fulid in my lungs.

Event comments:

I had problem breathing. When I crossed the finishers’ line I was helped out of the finishers shoot. The med people were too busy looking at the women coming out of the slip and slide. So once I was feeling well enough to walk I got up and left. This is defiantly not a WTC event.

Were we at the same race?  I thought it was great.  I liked the swim course design.  It was sort of like a house shape.  Straight out, angled to a point, then back on the other side.  This was my first race after an annoying achilles injury kept me out of the fun for almost a year.  I was having a pretty good race until I rolled my ankle at mile 3 on the run when I wasn't paying attention and stepped off the bike path.  I jog/walked back in, took a trip through the slip & slide, then asked for help with my ankle.  The medics were all over it.  Still swollen this morning, but my achilles seems to be OK. The finish area was pretty good while I waited for my girlfriend to finish.  Lots of booths, good food, and the slip & slide was entertaining.  Not a WTC event, but the whole M-dot thing is way overrated anyway.

Great swim and bike, too bad about the breathing problem on the run!  Still you finished and that is better than DNF.  I thought the post race stuff was just fine, lots of food and booths.  As far as the medical goes, I'm in the business and when I saw the name on the side of the ambulances before the race, well....

Great swim and solid race up through T-2

Hope you get the breathing stuff figured out.
