Extreme Veteran 597 NE Ohio | Subject: After Rev3 I hope everyone here that raced Rev had much fun as I did yesterday. That was truly a fun weekend.Conditions were ideal in my opinion. Even the swim was great, aside from the muck issues in the shallows by the start.Volunteers were great and there were a lot of them. Couldn't have been as good a show without them. |

Expert 1095 C-bus | Subject: RE: After Rev3 Agreed! Everything was wonderful with the exception that you never knew where you had to go to get into transition (outside of race time). They kept changing the "door"!!! Very minor issue. I actually thought it was kinda funny!

Veteran 125 Grand Rapids | Subject: RE: After Rev3 Ditto - excellent weekend and I absolutely loved the volunteers. My favorite volunteers were the people cheering at the bike turnaround spot (not sure of the town name) and I loved the guy on the run who I think was a pastor and would yell "WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. 24 hours after finishing - i am going to have to make a hard decision on where I want my first full 140.6 race to be. I was seriously considering IM Louisville or IM FL, but I really like the Rev3 people. I went up to the announcer before I left and thanked him for his great enthusiasm and humor. I would say the only, and I mean ONLY minor thing I didn't like about the race yesterday was the post race food - what was that. Fruit and cookie was good, but not sure what the entre was. |

Veteran 148 | Subject: RE: After Rev3 I thought Rev 3 did a great job with the bike change. A lot of traffic that could not be avoided. The swim muck was nothing they could control, and they dredged as much as they could. I loved the guy yelling on the run course. He was awesome. Rev3 should pay him next year! There did seem to be more people on the run course than last year. I also like the protest signs on the house. They do not like Sandusky government. CTC and Rev3 had a great time waiting on the last finishers at midnight. We are proud to have a great national race run by such a nice organization.
PS_ that food was the same as last year and was just as lousy then too!

Rev3 should pay him next year! i told him i wish there was a tackling dummy out there and i would have hit from his enthusiasm. i skipped the post race food and got a burger from Fridays. did make it down to the midnight finishers though. from a spectator standpoint, my whole family to the person said they enjoyed the whole thing also. even my 2 and 4 year old...as best they can |

I think the race announcer was hilarious! Does anyone know his name?I actually had a PR yesterday of 5:32 a 24 minute improvement over last year! Super pumped for that! |

Super pumped for that! Holy cow you are fast! I had a blast- just wish my knee hadn't given out in the last 20miles of the bike. It allows me to set and crush a great PR next year. I was so impressed with the REV 3 people, everyone was amazing. Was a bit miffed that a cop stopped a large group of us on the bike to let traffic through....but this was not Rev3's fault. I blame the post race food on Ceder Point, it was pretty icky. |

Ugh.
RR is up for those who want to read. (I'd link it, but I'm clueless on how to do it.)

Extreme Veteran 597 NE Ohio | Subject: RE: After Rev3 Robin, just read your RR. Great job and congrats on the podium finish. That must have been sweet. Give you credit on running the whole run....I had to give myself a walk at the aid stations on the last half. Still very pleased with the results of the whole thing. That's cool you got your kids out there for the finish. My wife tried, but the kids wanted no part |

Veteran 185 OHIO south of Dayton | Subject: RE: After Rev3 Really enjoyed this for my first HIM...nice job Rev3....it was a major change in atmosphere from my previous races. The volunteers rocked this race and so did the locals. Good to meet a few BTers. Aysel - I had the same thing happen to me crossing a relatively busy intersection on Mason Rd (church on the corner). It was almost like the policeman wasnt paying attention to the 10-15 of us screeching to a halt as he was giving cars the right of way. One person who tried to shoot the gap was nearly hit by a white Mercedes, but it was directly the policemans fault. Total confusion and lack of command.......thank you not-so-much sir..... Legs are still tight today, but a short recovery ride on the roadie today felt pretty darn good. |

It sounds like the police were not informed that they needed to stop vehicle traffic for bikes. I hope someone has written Rev 3 and informed them so they can address this for next years race. They seem to be pretty receptive over at Rev 3-and I'm sure that's something they'd like to address. (hint, hint) |

That was me who almost got hit! I was so stupid I have no idea what I was thinking. I know that in bike vs. Car that bike always looses. I was just so angry- the cop told us that "just wait, you will get your turn". Then he motioned and I went. Maybe he was motioning to the Car, but I went. I spent the rest of my race thinking that I was going to be DQed! |

Regular 146 Columbus | Subject: RE: After Rev3 My sister and I are thinking about doing the half next year - it is our hometown! I live in Columbus now but grew up in Sandusky/Huron. In fact the bike route went right by my parents' house. I've never done a race longer than a sprint, but I have a year to prepare...I do have to say it would be awesome to race in my hometown, and it sounds like a great race. I guess it's time to start training! Edited by NDIrishO3 2011-09-14 9:35 PM |

Member 33 | Subject: RE: After Rev3 Overall, I thought the Rev3 folks did a great job. All of the volunteers were fantastic and the crowds (especially the folks in Milan) cheering us on the course were great! The weather and conditions were as good as they could have been. It did warm up a little more than expected on the run, but when have the forecasts ever been right? So, can't really complain about that... I thought they did a good job handling and communicating the last minute bike course changes, and I didn't experience any of the traffic control issues that others had (but I have no doubt that they did). I doubt it was intentional, and I am just thankful that no one was hurt as a result. Thanks to everyone that supported Team RWB. We had as much pride handing out the American flags at the finish as it seems folks had running down the chute with them! Thanks to the Rev3 organization for helping us spread the message. |
