I might do it, the whole 400ft of downward grade makes it seem nice, but hope parking and transportation if finally fixed this year

I'm doing it, despite having sworn it off after the inaugural race.  They seem to have fixed the issues that bothered me with a new route and wider course.   I am psyched and hoping for something close to my hm pr.    I love the downhill stuff.

And, I'm wearing a costume!  Woot!   I already have it

I might do the 10 miler or maybe keep it real easy and fun and do the 5k at Lake Harriet.

May as well do the 13.1.  Otherwise you have to wait for a bus and all that jazz.   Would be more fun to run it!

I think the 5k is primarily a "fun run" and it's really a totally different event.  I suggest the 10 miler (or the half...) if you're going to bother

Edit:  and we could carpool

Maybe I should do the even easier 5K-9 with my dog....and a lap around Lake Harriet is soo much easier to get to and deal with.

Despite the logistic nightmare last year, there was fun to be had.  It looks like things are moving in the right direction this year with the new course.  Hopefully, the bus situation won't leave us standing out in the cold (literally!

I'm going to wait until the Twin Cities Marathon is behind me before signing up for this one.  Assuming that I'm still in love with running, I'll probably go for the 1/2 over the 10-miler, 'cause that's what all the cool kids are doing.  Laughing

Been thinking about this one, will the half fill up?  I've got my first HIM on the 23rd and while I thought it would be nice to do it, my wife thinks I'm stupid to sign up for this less than a week later.

You might be in way better shape than me, but I would NOT have an enjoyed a half marathon a week after my HIM.  I did a triathlon a few weeks later and still felt really tired/subpar.

I'll be there - doing my first half. I did the 10 miler last year and loved it and loved the course. I'm not excited about spending the end of the run on Shepherd road. I'm a Minneapolis girl and would prefer to stay over there, but I still think it will be fun and you get a beer - what's not to like!?

You know the whole race is in St. Paul, right?

Oh yeah, I know ... it's just the end that I think will be boring. I like Summit and the River Road... Shepherd doesn't have much in the way of scenery.

Oh, the suspense is killing us. What are you gonna' be?

And if someone with the name BikerGrrrl is donig the HM, I would fully expect someone with the name MN RunnerGirl to lead the pack!

I really need to rethink my user name

Okay, good, just was worried for a minute there that one of us was wrong!  Totally agree - Shephard is boring for the most part.

I sometimes think that, wondering if folks look at my bike splits and shake their heads.   Hey, you don't have to be good at something to enjoy it!

Cool!

Where are you in your avatar picture?  Not something in Minnesota I'd guess.

I'm in front of the Picasso Museum in Antibes, France. A very bike friendly part of the world!

That will make two of us from BT!

Very cool!  When I heard it was an all-down hill course, I was sold.

How is your training going?  Are you using a plan? I'm sort of using the FIRST plan, but not doing much of the speed work it calls for.
I do sprint tris mostly, so this is a big leap in distance for me. Like you, I also plan to do my first HIM next year so I'm trying to get my first HM under my belt.

I'm still trying to come up with a costume.
