Just Registered.  Went to their FB page, got coupon code 1VAP4S15BN to get $5 off.  From what I understand, you finish inside Livesrong sporting park on the jumbotron.  Sounds like a nice finish.  They have a 5K also AND a 3x5K relay.  Given the locale, I can't imagine the course being too hilly.

Yeah, sounds like a good race.  I am curious to see how many people show up, being this is probably the perfect tune up distance to the half or full in October here in KC.  I'm hoping to race smart, make sure my pace is good for the 13.1, and give my 'nutrition plan' a final test race.  I have been really happy with all the Ultramax races I have participated in. Hopefully I can add this one to that list!

I was able to squeeze the 20 mile run in today, just before the rain.  Perfect weather.  I am really looking forward to this race, now that I dont have to run afterwords.  From the email I got this week, the finishers will get etched pint glasses, and the tech shirts didnt look to bad.

The Cerner KC15K is almost here!

I did the Topeka Tinman race by Ultramax this summer, and got pint glass there, too, so wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was.  Kinda nice and different, I suppose.  The shirts were okay, too, but not the greatest tech shirts I have seen, from a materials point of view.

Only two days away. My two kids are working water station #1 so don't be too hard on them if cups are dropped or water's splashed all over your shirt

It is looking like we will have perfect weather for the race. I haven't raced a run only event longer than a 5k since rock the parkway HM last march. I am pretty excited for this.

You send me your bib# and I can make than happen!  The lady in charge of volunteers told me 1200-1500 runners expected.  I'm picking up packet tomorrow as I'm thinking LONG lines race morning.

I would assume that number includes the 1k and 5k?

I'm guessing it does as I simply asked her how many runners, didn't specify what distance.

Where'd you park?  Is it on that deck right in front of LiveStong?

Yeah, I parked across the street in the apple bees lot. Figured I wouldn't be there long enough to get towed.

Oh yeah, I will be wearing bib 80. Have you heard anything about a bag check? Most longer races I have done usually have this for a change of clothes, etc.

Checked in too. Not too excited about the lack of samples.  And I'm not about to go use the $50 gift card to the Chateau... But whatever.  See everyone there.  Bib #124

Yep. Really weak bag. They will have Heed and hammer gels on the course though. Stock up out on the course.

I thought it was alot of fun.  It was the event's first year, and there are some improvements they should make.  Overall, the course was nice, the weather was perfect, and I ran pretty well.   I also got to meet Mark, his girlfriend and their dog , Reece, and his two kids who volunteered.  So, it was a nice event.

Here are our race reporst if you care to read them...

Thanks for the reports!  Sorry I couldn't make it.  But I did 8 miles Sunday on the Lake Sherwood hills at about 7:10 pace and felt great, so I am going to keep upping the mileage over the next 2 weeks, and will definitely sign up for the KC Half Marathon.  See you guys there.

There was some food. They had bagels, cookies, and orange slices.

In terms of swag and t-shirt, it was a little weak, but really at this stage in my racing "career" I really could care less. Most of always ends up being trash, t-shirt included.

The race itself went well. No hiccups from my view point in the race itself. I hope this becomes an annual event. Rare to see a 15k road race in this area.
