Expert 1706 NoVA | Subject: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** So who's watching this week? Should be lots of good racing! So tomorrow is the "Elite Men's TT." I'm looking forward to this---you always just take/assume Spartcus has it wrapped up but looks like many are saying Martin is the favorite!! Should be a ridiculous race---probably the race I've been most looking forward to for this years WC.
***Spoiler below***
As for today's Women's Elite---suprised that Emma Pooley was "only" third... Edited by Skippy74 2011-09-20 7:07 PM |

All taking place in my old hometown too Yes it looks like a showdown between Martin and Spartacus for the TT, although off course I'd like to see WIGGO! pull something special out of the bag. Road race looks quite open I think. So many fast men looking on form. I HOPE for Cav, but Sagan, Goss and Thor might be too strong on the uphill finish. Cav looked red hot at the Tour of Britain though....... |

Expert 1706 NoVA | Subject: RE: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** Ahhh you seem to be firmly in my camp---the road race will most definitely be.......hmmmm too close to call right now!! Thor and Sagan could benefit from the uphill finish but so many guys seem to be on good form. It would be nice to see the rain hold off today for the TT---watched the Universal coverage (taped) last night of the women's TT and the cobbles + rain made their technical course a bit tricky. |

Cancellara or Martin? Who's going to be king today? Not King.... Kaiser! Mind you. That was Ulrich's nickname, so I don't think Tony would be too pleased with that.... He was superb today and Wiggo was a pleasant surprise. |

He was superb today and Wiggo was a pleasant surprise. Um, you kinda sucked the drama out of things today, Mr. Martin. Huge performance stamping his mark on the title of world's best time trialist (right now). Reminded me a bit of Djokovic's US Open run this year that silenced a lot of his doubters. Agree that Wiggins was a nice surprise today; too bad the Vuelta didn't have a TT in the 3rd week or things could possibly have been different for him. I was hoping for a better showing from Taylor Phinney though, thinking top-10 was a possibility for him. |

Nice video summaries. While watching Tony Martins race summary they said he was wearing a camelpak? Is this legal? And if so what kind of benefits? Just on the top of his back or under his stomach/chest? |

Expert 1706 NoVA | Subject: RE: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** I was also suprised with Phinney's results---he tweeted that he was also---the day went as he planned (targeted) but the results didn't... Guess people didn't expect it to be so fast---and Martin to really be that much faster!!! |

Expert 1145 Ann Arbor, MI | Subject: RE: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** Anybody else watching the Elite Men's Road Race today? Who are you pulling for to win? I like Thor and EBH's chances, but depending how the final kms work out, if Cav's in good position you can't bet against him. |

Beyond the winners, I was very impressed with the performances of Cancellera and Wiggins, both right off the Vuelta and both with great results in both the TT and RR. Shane |

Expert 1145 Ann Arbor, MI | Subject: RE: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** Great finish. Cav looked totally boxed in before ripping that line by the barriers. Goss' hard charge at the end could've won it IF the race were 2m longer than it was. The 2012 season by the Manx Missile might just be his greatest yet, for though he might not have won as many GT stages as in '09 and '10, winning the Green Jersey at TdF and capping the season in the Rainbow Jersey is high honors indeed. |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: World Championships ***Spoilers Welcome*** That was a very nice sprint by Cav. I wonder why the US sent the team it sent. Seems we could have sent a few older guys to help out Farrar for a course like this. 41 Mark Cavendish (Great Britain) |

Renshaw not going was just asking to be beat, he would have happily lead out goss and given him the extra fraction of a second he needed to win gold. Seriously Baden Cooke or Matty Busche over Renshaw, how do they explain that? |
