I started running with my son when he was 8. He is a high maintenance military kid; full of energy and fun. We ran and walked and left the tv and the video games behind. It was our time. When the emotions of a teenager run high, I told him to lace up and run. The conversations are only getting better. Girls, music, drugs and the topics never run dry.
It six years later, he's 14 now, and can out run me, but we always run together. This year I'll miss the Army Ten Miler but my entry will run thanks to my son.
