Total Time = 11h 28m 52s
Overall Rank = 41/
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 4/
Pre-race routine:

Ate a bagel with peanut butter and a gatorade/carbo pro drink mix to sip before hand.
Event warmup:

Powertap died overnight. Couldn't get my tires pumped until 15 minutes before hand...bike just got worse as the day went
Swim
  • 1h 11m 59s
  • 4224 yards
  • 01m 42s / 100 yards
Comments:

Took it easy. Had issues spotting and getting into the draft.
What would you do differently?:

Swim closer to the bouys
Transition 1
  • 04m 20s
Comments:

Grabbed the bag myself and went into the tent, which was a hot mess. Didn't have my gel flasks ready.
Bike
  • 6h 20m 55s
  • 112 miles
  • 17.64 mile/hr
Comments:

After the turn around on the out and back, I had my first flat. I heard a "thud thud thud" and stopped to change it. 5 minutes later, another flat..my vavle stem failed. Got it fixed and off again. What do you know, a slashed tire! I had to wait for the sag wagon to get a new tire/tube.

At 56 miles, ran into a friend who had two flats and was DNF'ing. Stopped to make sure she was ok and chat.
What would you do differently?:

Bike was a disaster. Neck bothered me the second loop and took it easy. My seat post slipped 2 cm sometime.
Transition 2
  • 02m 45s
Comments:

Had to get another gel ready and work on my hamstrings because of the bike issue. Someone gave me tums which was great.
Run
  • 3h 48m 56s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs were fresh b/c I took it easier on the bike, but that's what you're supposed to do! First lap was solid. Second was good, third was the pain zone.
What would you do differently?:

Better running base. Had a bunch of 10-14 mile runs, then one 16 and one 18.
Post race
Warm down:

stretch and massage

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mechanical issues and bike fit.
