Just saw they have 12 new episodes for this season.  I live just south of Atlanta and have yet to see any of these Zombies.  Regardless, I am prepared, are you?

I'm a zombie freak. I love all the cheezy zombie movies. Season one of the Walking Dead was awsome. I ended up buying season one on dvd and have actually watched it twice. I'm very excited for season 2 to see whats twists they throw in.

I'm still preparing for the zombie infestation some day. Plus I'm a deputy sheriff and we are one of the few who survive.Laughing

I can't wait for the new season. Great previews too! Apparently the story has them leaving Atlanta with a few 100,000 zombies following. I say get to the Atlantic and set sail. Zombie are not very good swimmers and wind up attracting too many sharks so they get eaten before they swim 500 yards

I'm very much looking forward to it.

After watching season 1 I bought all the comics, and have currently read about half.  There are significant divergances between the show and comics, but both are great.

I truly don't see how they could film some of the stuff in the comics, at least not for TV

I'm excited, but I hope season 2 is just as good as the first. Frank Darabont stepped down as showrunner this summer over battles with AMC. I hope it is still as good.

THankfully I have a US ISP over here so I can get it on Hulu. OR was it Amazon. Whichever. I can watch it, but like two days after the episode airs.

I have the same problem. I think last season I just bought it all on iTunes though.

I'm excited too, but a little miffed that they are going to show the 1st 6 episodes starting 10/16. Then take a break and show the remaining episodes in February.

They haven't exhausted their supply of hood rats around the airport to make it that far south yet.

ETA: I live about 10 miles from where they did some of the filming (even near one of our ride routes), but didn't get down to watch any filming.

Looking at the group foto a couple post up above, why do the just have a shotgun, pistol and baseball bat (wood)?  They should have gone through all the military vehicles for automatic weapons.

I know we have talked about best weapon for a zombie invasion(?)  When the balloon does go up.  Unless you can make your own bullets,  what would be better?    Bat  (wood or aluminum), machete, or if you were lucky a Samurai sword .

This is a weapon that the USMC developed during WWII.  Called the Stinger (?) adapt a buttstock to a .30 cal browning.

the walking dead zombie

For the fellow Walking Dead fans, there is a series of 6 webisodes on AMC's website explaining the origins of this zombie, dubbed "Bicycle Girl."

Unless you have a really well fortified position and can aim that well enough to get a head shot it wont help at all, probably why the shotguns and pistols are the weapon of choice. It would be for me. single or double shot at medium range (or long range with a hunting rifle and scope) to take out a zombie. hard time aiming? us the shotgun to open a wider swath. also easier to carry amo for those and easier to lug them around.

As for a hand to hand weapon, I would be a fan of a metal baseball bat. it's not going to break (hopefully) and you don't worry about it getting stuck in what you hit. trying to swing a machete and suddenly it gets caught on bone and you find yourself unarmed - no good. Not to mention Blunt Force Traume seems a better way to go when it comes to braining them. If I could find one, a medievil mace or maul would be the perfect weapon for it.

Good point about head shots and machetes getting stuck.   But the .30 cal would be able to tear up the legs of the Zs and slow the mass down...  Than take the head shots to put them out of their misery.

That's inefficient and a waste of precious ammunition.

Those new super-spensive, super-lightweight softball bats are looking better and better Z as Z-Day weapons.

T-minus two days to new season? Yup.

Aluminum bat with little metal pyramids shaped knobs welded on would be the new age mace and would crack some skulls in.
