Pre-race routine:

Woke up. Ate half a banana. Drove downtown and parked. Picked up chip. Stood in the sun, walked around the park with Lainey. Then we ran.

Event warmup:

Just a stroll around Moore Square. We were out here to make room for breakfast :) This was both of our's first 10k (first open one for me). My goal was to run with Lainey at her pace, and help push her a bit at the end.

Not a durn thing. Maybe run slower :)

Warm down:

Ate a cupcake from the WakeMed 50th anniversary celebration, walked to Morning times for a double macchiato.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No need to go any faster today.

Event comments:

WakeMed hit the nail squarely on the head with this race. It was AWESOMELY supported (even the COO of WakeMed was out there moving supplies around, greeting runners and families)
