Event warmup:

Tried to find bathroom. Found one at last minute.
Run

  • 08m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

Wheels just fell off bus after long climb at 3 hr mark. Started to run walk.
What would you do differently?:

There is a big three mile hill from mile 20 to 23. I powered up it, trying to keep an 8 minute pace. That was a mistake. I should have slowed it down on that hill, since it was basically at the top of that hill where I started walking.
Post race
Warm down:

Went to brunch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure.

Event comments:

My legs hurt more than from anything I've ever done.

Hey Chris, i just saw this report. Great Job!!! Summit is a tough ! I didn't see any other marathons on your race list, and if this was your first, it's one hell of a performance. Doesn't look like you are too far off from the BQ. Keep up the great work!
