Swim
  • 35m 37s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

GU 30 minutes before the start
What would you do differently?:

need to improve swim stroke, continue to focus on form, have gu closer to start
Transition 1
  • 02m 14s
Comments:

had 2 flats, carried gloves and gu onto the bike, it was not set-up well.
What would you do differently?:

left the tape home so didnt take everything i needed.
Bike
  • 1h 46m 25s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 14.01 mile/hr
Comments:

flat tire at mile 10. my spare had a hole. depsite this i held a pcae over 18mph which was my goal (but i had a long break/recovery). Had two GUs one at mile 10 and one at mile 20. Drank about a bottle and a quarter of water with electrolyte tablet.
What would you do differently?:

check spare, bring two spares or one spare and a patch kit. also, consider putting arm warmers in the bag to fight the cold in situations like this.
Transition 2
  • 02m 16s
Comments:

Inside transition area stopped to take my shoes off which went well. my spot on the rack was taken so i had to move another bike. took my time putting shoes on/had trouble with my laces (may be too short). Watch was not set-up for the run.
Run
  • 44m 39s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

got something to drink at every stop and had two GUs. Still had a side cramps on both sides almost from the getgo that did not let up until at least half way through the run. Intermittent cramps in calf in the first two miles went away then some discomfort in hamstring on the downhills , which forced me to slow down on them in the last few miles.
What would you do differently?:

consider more nutrition on bike. Know the finish better.
Post race
Warm down:

light stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

flat

Event comments:

should have had some support on route 27 where all of the flats were occuring instead of intown and around the run.
