jkintn - 2012-12-03 7:11 AM I hope you all had a good race. This was my first time running St Jude and also my first marathon. I had a great experience (despite those last four miles). Initial goal was 4:00-4:10 and I finished in 3:58. Very happy with results. Great job by St Jude and the city of Memphis hosting this event. I will be back.

Great job smashing through that sub-4 barrier!!!

I missed my time goal, hit 5:01:46! I wanted a sub 5 hour race, (stupid calf cramps) but on the bright side, I made a 1 hour six minute improvement over last year!

BOOM!

I signed up for the full but didn't train nearly enough so I just did the half.  My wife did the full and finished despite some dehydration issues around mile 18 or so where they ran out of water.  I decided to sign up for the Country Music Marathon in Nashville to have a well rounded household with two marathon finishers.

I actually stopped and waited for my wife since she was behind me.  I didn't care about my time but the group my wife was with was running slower than I thought so I ran 4 miles with them and took off around mile 9.5.  The unexpected heat started to hit me around mile 11-12 and felt bad but the last mile was great.  Great crowds and a great event.

This was my first marathon as well, and the back 1/2 was crucial....  I did not train like I should have but ended up finishing and have recovered well.

Might try another marathon one day?
