Good morning all!

I'm going to head out on the mountain bike in a bit.  I'm heading out to an area that everytime I drive on I80 west I think, 'that would be an awesome place to mountian bike' but in 16 years of living here, I've never done it.  Today I am!  Can't wait to explore.

Had a terrific CC meet yesterday.  My junior runner hit his first 17 and ran 17:26, 4th behind three 4A Varsity seniors
(we're 2A), and one of my freshman ran 18:10, my others set PRs as well.

Happy racing and training!!!

Congratulations on the CC meet.

Group ride this morning, 25 miles with a group from the LBS where I bought my bike. Nice group, pretty fast, so that is a definite plus. And I was able to explore previously unknown areas. I need to pull up Google maps and figure out where I was It is a great start to a week of vacation, and a good push before next weekends race.

Enjoy the weekend.

Good morning BTers! Beautiful and cool but windy here in Philly. Today was my last long run before tapering for Marine Corps. Ran 22 miles at 7:50 average pace and felt just fine at the end. Really happy right now.

Tri club party tonight, I see liquid carbs in my immediate future.

I would be over the moon with that pace for 22 miles!

45 minutes on the bike followed by a 15 minute run.  That's all I can fit in today.

13 mile run followed by a 2450 yd swim.  Hadn't run that far in awhile, so it felt nice to get a little run mileage on the legs and to get in the water to loosen up the muscles!

Nice pace!

I did an hour easy jog today, and for once I actually was able to keep myself in check -- heart rate in the low 130's.  On beautiful days like today I usually end up going too fast and not taking it easy.  Coached a soccer game and now off to take the kids to the park... an hour on the bike this evening.

Good times thrown out there!

I just watched a Div. 3 kid crank out a 16:20 or something like that - 1st mile 5:09 and 2 miles in 10:20.  This kid is a machine.  I've watched him in a couple of other meets and he has a strong cadence, but very fluid and consistent.

My frosh son did okay in J.V.

Oh, back to the topic - I'm still injured and hobbled around the x-country course today.

Mountain bike has been feeling greatly neglected.  Took it out on the Millenium and North Shore Paths to Lake Michigan, and then back home.

56 miles on lightweight gravel/limestone pathway.  20+ mph wind, the hard way.

Going to run later.

90 minute ride this morning starting just before sun up (thankfully others in the group have lights).  Cold.  Windy and cold.  Glad I got up to do it, but learned I need warmer gloves.

40 minute run this evening.  Much milder weather.

Thank you!  If I can do that for 26.2 (or even close) I'll not only be over the moon, I'll be sending a LBRR from Pluto!

Run was 1 hr on the treadmill.  Put in 4 x 5 min sections where I ran 30-45 sec faster than normal pace.  Rest of it was fairly easy.

I got nothing. This is the first time in a long time that I've gone two days with nothing. I'm trying to tell myself that it will be good for me.

Yesterday was a scheduled rest day. Today we had homecoming activities and the boys' last play performance. They did great. My little guy told me, just as he was falling asleep, "I'm glad the play is over. That pig mask was really starting to bug me." lol

My 10 year old informed me this morning that his life goal has changed from being a librarian to singing/acting on Broadway.

Lord help me.

Back at training tomorrow.
