I'm IN!  Whoo!  So excited! : )

If recent runs are any indication, I will not be hitting a PR for the run, but it is going to be great anyway!  Tons of peeps are running!

Nat, Michelle and I found a really cute cottage on Tybee (www.mermaidcottages.com - love them) and the shuttle is a definite, so those are good things.

I will be working the GU booth with Tyler, the king of GU, at the expo on Friday so everyone please come by for the free samples.  Maybe they will have some of the new peanut butter flavor and this season's holiday flavor - peppermint stick!

And, don't forget that there is still time to buy $100 of Brooks or Moving Comfort goods at Big Peach ($150 at the expo) to get your "Potty Like a Rockstar" sticker from Brooks to use the "good" potties.  New gear is not in my budget right now, so I will have to Potty Like a Groupie.  Ha!

Hope we can connect with the brown dogs! We've got sitters. It's looking more and more like a training day for me. I will probably try and pace mrs slayer to sub4 if she is game.

I am in! Should be a fun weekend and I am hoping that it will be cold or at least not warm. My training has been good. Definitely better than in recent years so  I hope to target a pr--sub 3:28. It will be a weather dependent race goal--cold--go for it-- warm--hope to survive.

Steph? Brooks isn't going to give you a sticker? We will have to get you one. Michelle and I got ours.

I'm in (for the pain)! I've never done a stand alone marathon so I was hoping for a PR but my Ironman mary may prevail based upon my sheer laziness.  I'm excited though because Savannah is awesome, there are going to be tons of people that I know there, and we have a hotel right at the race start so race day logistics issues are covered.

Am in it to finish it..

Steph we must get you a pass.  I will feel guilty in the "good potties" wo you.

Peppermint stick GU tastes like the mushy after dinner mints that used to be at restaurants (bowls near the register).

Just found out that Tyler, King of GU, will actually be in NYC - it seems that they are having a little race up there the same weekend as Savannah R-n-R Marathon.  Ha Ha.

So, I will be spreading the GU love with Kat instead.  Everyone still come by and say hello on Friday when you go to pick up your packet!

Signs went up yesterday on I-16 announcing the closing of some of the freeway exits for the race. That makes it feel a little more real. It's going to be interesting trying my first marathon having only done 2 runs over 10 miles, but I'm looking forward to it!

And I guess I'll be joining the crowds at the cheap potties too!

Good luck everyone! I decided not to do this one, I am doing the Jacksonville Bank Marathon in December instead, didn't feel ready for the marathon running build-up until I was completely healed from IM Lou.

I've been looking for volunteer opportunities for the race since I have friends doing it, but I think I might have missed the boat.

I am in and my daughter Kacy too.  I am so excited for both of us.  Me because my running is really coming together thanks to Coach Tony and Kacy because it's her first and she has really trained hard for this.

On top of all this goodness - RockNRoll puts on a great race and this inaugural run in Savannah should be a day to remember.  I know it's early but thru next Friday weather looks perfect in Savannah.

See you all out there!

Have you driven the course?  So you know the roads?  Can you tell us how hilly (or not I hope) the race is?

Thx

I don't know the course, but I checked out the elevation profile.  Looks like the highest point is 60-ish feet?

When is everyone going to Savannah? We are coming in Thursday. Lisa our plan is to cook/eat in race night. Lame but I'd rather go out when I can have mas cervezas!!! Where are you and Kacy staying?

First day of stalking weather: low: 51 high: 72. Sunny.

I guess that is okay so long as it doesn't change and get hotter. Hopefully it will get cooler but it looks like it is going to rain earlier in the week and following patterns of late that means day after rain it is cold/cool/getting warmer as days progress until rains again.

So let's talk outfits based on that weather:

Me: skirt, sleeveless tank, maybe zensha calf sleeves doubtful for butterfly arm panties (too warm), adrenaline gts11, ball cap. maybe toss mittens. ipod to drown out bands.

Is anyone wanting to shoot for sub 3:30-25? Join me in a blow up?

It is 62 feet I think. Which isn't much of anything. Usually in the Atlanta area most hills are in the 100-200ft range.

We have to determine where we will go for the mas cervezas.  Hm.

Me/Nat: skirt, sleeveless tank, maybe zensha calf sleeves doubtful for butterfly arm panties (too warm), adrenaline gts11, ball cap. maybe toss mittens. ipod to drown out bands.

Me/Steph:  nightlife yellow/black Brooks ID tank and shorts (I will be easy to spot!); Ghost 4s; black GU visor (I prefer the white one, but it is lost); pink handbottle; longsleeved shirt and maybe gloves to toss at start; leaving ipod at home to enjoy the bands.  Perfectly willing to make my own beats, though, if the bands are lacking or during the stretches where the bands are far apart.  : )

3:30 ha!  I will be stalking just under 4 hrs and may still blow up.

Outfits - Nat, you crack me up!

Me -

Lululemon grey plaid skirt or black & pink shorts
Matching tank of some sort
Pink zensah arm warmers if it's cold
Asics Nimbus shoes
Swiftwick socks (best sock ever!)
Visor
iPod (because I need constant entertainment)

Hoping to break 5 hours...but we'll see.

I'm staying right near the start with a friend, and we are doing the haunted pub crawl Saturday night.  Let me know where you end up drinking so we can stop by.

You almost broke 5 hours in the Ironman run (5:17, I looked it up)!  You have at least 4:30 with no pre-race swim and bike!

Yes, but that was the Honey Badger, who didn't care.  HB is in hybernation now.

BTW - you can pub crawl with us, will be a lot of fun.

BS....HB's don't hibernate! Let's think about this:

1) You've been training for a marathon.... (even more so than your Ironman mary)

2) The course is flatter

3) The temperature will be cooler

4) You did your 20 mile training run at a 10:40 pace (4:40 mary)...with probably more hills too, given where you run.

You need to target 4:30 at the very least.  If you go slower than 4:45, I am going to kick you for slacking (although you won't have to worry about follow through as I won't be in any condition to kick anyone after my painful race). Maybe we should work in some kind of rewards system where you don't get any beers after if you don't channel the HB.....

Katie is the sandbagger - she's probably going to blow by all of us and finish in under 4 hours!

I love "channel the HB", we need to order shirts!  Great idea about the reward for a goal, I'll have to give that some thought...
