Greetings fellow BTers,

I've been on the site since mid Sept. and just haven't gotten around to doing the intro thing until now.  9/11/11 I cheered on a good friend of mine in their first Ironman and it was an absolutely awesome event.  I did the bike leg of a few team TRI events almost 22 years ago and never anything else.  Now in my mid-life years, I've been fighting weight issues and an undiagnosed medical issue (for the last 5 years) which have somewhat sidelined me from the level of physical activity I'd like to have in my life.  Watching my friend do this event absolutely inspired me to get back into training in the gym and to start participation in TRI events.  I've been keeping up with the training log and am hoping to get one sprint and at least thee OLYs done next summer.  I've lost 10 lbs since Sept. 13th and would like to be down at least 35 by the end of February.  That will still have me in the Clydesdale arena but closer to the 200 I'd like to be at by June of 2012.

Regards,

John

Welcome John...  Great job on getting started...  Stick with it and you'll see some stellar results...!!!

The indoor tris at the rec plex down there by you over winter might be a good way to ease into the racing thing...

John - Welcome! Don't let the donks scare you. They're actually quite harmless as far as I can tell.

John - Good luck 'cracking the code'....I'm still working on their secret tail wag, hand shake, secret bloody recipe.....you name it.

Oh yeah, welcome to the board....I'm a newb as well!  Seems like an interesting crowd!

Which begs the question:  How does one become an official Donkey, or Donkai?
