Actually I've always thought that was a well intended, but failed attempt at self editting. He realized that finishing the quote would give anyone the chance to use a clip of him saying "Shame on me". If he's learned anything from Karl Rove it's to never, ever give anyone that kind of ammunition. He stopped, looked for a way out and ended up walking into a closet instead of out an exit so to speak. Either that or his ego simply wouldn't let him utter the phrase. |
