I'm planning on being there, as long as work doesn't get in the way. It shouldn't and it should be my second tri!

This will be my 2nd Tri.  I roped my training partner into doing it too.  I live very near the event.  In fact the bike route goes on the road where I live.  I haven't actually ridden the full route, but from what I know of the roads there really aren't any major hills, (or minor ones for that matter).  It should be a pretty easy ride, unless I'm just not remembering something drastic.  I think I'm going to try to ride the route before the event, so I'll post here if I do, and let ya'll know my findings.    I haven't really trained up for this tri, so it should be fun! haha.

I'll be there! The LAC Tri this past spring was actually my first triathlon, so I'm interested how my times have changed over the year for the same course. Plus, I have a friend at work who will be running his first tri there, so I'm going for moral support, too.

The natatorium is nice. There are bleachers for the spectators, and indoor restroom facilities. There is a separate diving pool that can be used for warming up even after the race is underway.

The ride course is flat, with a route that winds through some neighborhoods. Very little traffic. The only ding was that there is one point where it crosses a busy road. There were police managing the intersection, but the officer did stop the cycling traffic occasionally to let traffic pass. I got lucky and came up while he was letting a group of cyclists through, so I never had to stop.

The run course is nice. (also flat) The first half was along a tree-shaded greenbelt , so it was cool and pleasant. A little after the turnaround, the course shifted to nieghborhood sidewalks. Post-race, there were bagels and bananas, and also the Jamba Juice guys had a stand set up. (Coupons in race packet for participants.) Can't say whether it will be that way this time, but it wasn't bad for a smaller race.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Hi DFW Triathletes!

Sunday's tri in Flower Mound is going to be my first and I'm sooooo excited.

My goal is to take my time and finish in one piece. If the sport is as addictive as everyone says I'm going to use the off season to train, so I can be competitive next year.

I like Aaron's idea of meeting up before the race. Right now I have one "tri buddy", but would like many more. Since I'm new to the sport, I'm not familiar with the training groups and great tri stores in the metroplex. All of my training for this event has either been at WRL or at my gym.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you cool triathletes!

Aaron, I don't know how all this stuff works, but it would be cool to meet somewhere. Bodymarking sounds like as good a spot as any to meet up to me. Anyone else interested?

Will be there! Looks like the weather will be all good...high 60s to low 70s for race time, 10% chance of rain.

Yay!  I'm really excited to meet all of ya'll.  I'll be the short little girl with a red sniffly nose, hacking and coughing.  I didn't get to go on the course because of the unfortunately timed illness, but it looks like we already have a great description! (thanks, David

Turq, I think that you need to come anyway so you can scream at me in person (more motivational than in my head) and meet the rest of the folks.  Plus, you'll have the added entertainment value of seeing me fall everytime they stop the bike traffic.  haha.

I'm bringing a camera so I can take a picture of all of us, and post it.

JeepFleeb and I met while looking over the course. How unbelievable is that? We've never met each other before, there is only one part of the bike course where you need to get out to look, and we are both out of our cars at the exact same point at the exact same time of the day. Spooky.

Anyway, he looks exactly like what you think, and he's a great guy. Can't wait to meet everyone else at body marking tomorrow!

Oh, and if you didn't go over the course today, here's a pointer: One point, maybe 8 miles into the sprint course, is on the bike path. There is a very hard turn and a very narrow bridge, where no passing is allowed. Largo road, the road beforehand, is very flat and wide, so blow past people here. It is the right turn off of Preakness. Good luck, y'all!

Oh yeah, if I remember, I'll be wearing my light blue Brooklyn Dodgers hat tomorrow before the race. It has a white B on it for...um, for Brooklyn.

Had a really good time (though I will have better times next year...still just surviving these things instead of truly racing them), and enjoyed meeting everyone. Amanda, let us know when you get that picture up!
