New to Triathlons and I was thinking about joining Sunrise tri based in Long Island.  Does anyone know anything about the club?  Do they do group rides?

very little but its a good store...why dont you stop in or call them to find out about group rides etc.

When I was there the TEAM concept was really just window washing...its more like you pay a fee, get a uniform and a lifetime percentage off deal in their store or affiliated stores....not so much of a team feeling even though you may see others with the same uniform at races

But again I am not part of it so take it FWIW.

I joined Sunrise Tri in 2007 and haven’t looked back…..it was a great decision. I virtually had no background in SBR and went from almost passing out in my 1st sprint to Ironman in 2 years. Camaraderie is one of the key benefits......from finding friends, a new training partner, multiple social events, etc. You will find the staff fosters a truly supportive atmosphere in which you can achieve your athletic goals. The team has its own board that members post group workouts.

Hope this helps.....

I'm not very familiar with the team, but if it's anything like to the store and it's employees, you're in good hands. Purchased my first tri bike about 3 weeks ago and completed the fitting yesterday. These guys take their time and do it right! Very, very supportive and well educated in their field. I would definitely recommend the store to anyone new to the sport. I'm going to check out the team this year a well.
