Overall Rank = /

Age Group Rank = 40/154
Pre-race routine:

I pre rode the bike hill the day before. Apart from that just relaxed etc. Ate some oats and kept hydrated about 3 hours before my start time. Set up transition then watched the pros go and relaxed. Oh, coffee, 2 coffees :)
Event warmup:

None.
Swim
  • 41m 22s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my longest swim yet and I am just happy I wasn't last out! The first half went well but then we were swimming into the sun and I had difficulty sighting so I think I swam a bit wide.

What would you do differently?:

As per usual - swim faster!!!
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Slightly dizzy from the swim and did a comedy sideways run nearly into the barrier on the way to my bike - I don't think anyone saw though!
Included in bike time.
Slightly slow getting on the bike.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 53s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.18 mile/hr
Comments:

Seat moved up about 4km in so I was a bit sore finishing after my first race with aero bars. I'm sure I didn't use them as much as I should have but its a start!Time includes both T1 and T2.
What would you do differently?:

2 minutes faster and I would have come first in the age group - I would have cycled faster!!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Long long run to start of run course.
Run
  • 49m 3s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

I sat behind another runner at a decent pace for a few km and then pulled alongside. We ran together and paced each other which was excellent.
Post race
Event comments:

It costs a bit but its an excellent race. I loved it. Will be back next year and faster.
