Pre-race routine:

Puffins cereal and milk before leaving the house. A water bottle in the car to hydrate.30 minutes before race start, took a GU 2X Expresso Shot. Lets not forget the obligatory porto-john visit. :)

Stretched for 5 to 10 minutes followed by a swim.
Swim
  • 20m 9s
  • 1148 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was a great swim, some current helped others took you off course. All in all it waa a good swim.
What would you do differently?:

More real OW swimming practice. Missed taking advantages of the swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m 28s
Comments:

It's amazing I keep improving my transition times and still I rank in the hundreds...but at least I'm getting faster.
What would you do differently?:

Leave my shoes clipped on the bike, just havent figured out how to do that yet.
Bike
  • 1h 16m 13s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.56 mile/hr
Comments:

I think I could have done it faster but kept saving a little for it since riding it the week before and new what to expect. I should have just hammered all the way. Ugh!
What would you do differently?:

See above!
Transition 2
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

I had the last spot on the transition toward the run exit. So I had a nice run from the swim exit and for the bike exit / enterance!
What would you do differently?:

Other than throwing the bike and running barefoot I cant think of doing anything other than doing it faster.
Run
  • 53m 29s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt good. Dont know why yet I know this could be my best area for improvement. A friend did the run in 43 minutes...thats my goal!
Post race
Warm down:

Oranges, AminoVital Water

Event comments:

Well I said my A-Race was going to be all out and I think I did that. Really pleased with the effort knowing where to place emphasis in training...1/2 IM 2006!!!!

Rock on - Super Job -- You did great! Reading your account has given my great inspiration for next Sundays du. The Westchester course from what I hear is really challenging, complete with monster hill. You have much to be proud of. Thanks for the inspiration.

Awesome job!   That swim was definitely a little choppy w/ current.  I just wish they told us what the distance was.

Keep up the training,  I am hoping to do a 1/2 IM next year as well.

Didnt know any BTers would be there...I checked the forum for upcomimg races and no one responded to the Westchester Tri.
