I did it back in '95ish, and the weather was great. 30s and sunny.

atree - 2005-09-27 2:35 PM

Have you done that thing!!!  We went this last year and all I have to say is, "Damn, I am glad it came a blinding snowstorm/ icey road thing"!  We all drove to the top and got checked in, lingered a few minutes because it was COLD at the top and the next thing you know it starts to snow.  Harder and harder, you couldn't see 50 feet!!  Roads up there started to ice over and the park service said ...ain't running today.  We all drove back down to the foot and they let us run up if we wanted.  I made it about a mile maybe a little more before I turned around.

My shins hurt for over week!!  It is agonizingly steep.  Hill repeats up Stone Mountain anyone?  It was fun though!  They would have had hot soup for you at the top.

Oh dear Lord! Don't tell her she might get hardware, hell she would register as a cross dressing transvestite in order to come home with a plaque!!!!

Wouldn't a crossdressing transvestite just be dressed like their gender?

I hate being called on the mat....it is a show up win a prize race.  ALL participants get a plaque and sweatshirt.  It is a small event though.  I am not sure if they give AG awards but I would say you'd have a good shot at getting one.  Maybe by default, I don't recall seeing that many women there.

LOL!  I just see a pattern with you men.  First it's Jim at Peach Tree, stopping at every porta-potty along the course.  The wings the night before prevented him to PR.  And then there's Chiptole in your situation.  It's hard for me not to laugh and let it go.  If you would have only heard us in the parking lot- both me and Hley kept saying "where's Brett?"  "He's coming right?"  I think my new code workd for using hte bathroom will be "I have to make a Gatorade stop!"

Oh how I wish that there were porta potties on the course. But I guess the clean up crews probably wish it more...

LOL- you needed a diaper for that race!  I think for the next Chiptole visit we need to walk in there with diapers!!!  Just in case we don't make it to the bathroom....

This sounds like fun and I'd be there but I'm already signed up for the Chattanooga Century this Saturday.
