1) You leave the house in shorts only to return minutes later for pants.
2) You seriously wonder if you're still on the trail due to all the fallen leaves.
3) Your ride involes more than one dismount to climb over fallen trees.
4) After 2 hours of riding the water in your last bottle is still cold.
5) After returning home you consider not showering since you didn't break a sweat.

I did break out the trainer today, as it suddenly became freezing and rainy here overnight.  Just a few days ago it was 80, now it's about 46    If it ever stops raining it will be time for the gloves, jacket and tights for sure.  When the foot warmers don't work, then it's game over

Another sign is that you get home from work and find that you have half an hour of daylight left to ride!

It has been raining for 3 days and it expected 2-3 more days...remanants of some huricane...don't even know the name. Today it is 53 degrees as the high. Didn't get my bike ride in Friday or today....need to get on the trainer tonight...maybe watch some good TV.

Switched my long run until today but with the cold rain didn't seem fun either...plus I was Mom the driver today while celebrating my daughter's 11th birthday. I went grocery shopping 4 times today...bad record.

I need some endorphins so it is either the trainer or running in the cold, rain in the dark.

When you go for a swim at the lake, the water is 15 degrees warmer than the air

In all seriousness, I use my trainer year round, so winter-time use isn't such a big deal for me...

Sign....you are hammering on your bike (in leg warmers, arm warmers, and windbreaker), HR is up over 160....and you're doing 15mph thanks to that FRIGID HOWLING wind.....

But I sooo hate to be indoors.  As previously said, I'll be outside until my toes are numb with the booties on...oh yeah, and did I mention I don't own a trainer

I rode 30 seconds into the wind this morning before turning around to go put some more clothes on. I agree with the daylight thing... I can barely get an hour ride in before work, and there's not a chance that it would happen in the evening.

We are wimps here in Northern California as we ride outside year round but damn it is chilly now early in the morning...no trainers, but we break out the knickers and extra shell! It warms up quickly when the sun comes out but the early a.m. is cold now....

This Northern California wimp uses here training on weeknights because of lack of sunlight... but it's true, I bike outside twice a week all year long... (please don't hate me because I'm warm!!)

It's still warm and humid here in GA, so I don't need to worry about a trainer for awhile!

- Last weekend:  barely warmed up after an hour's ride in the wind.  Need a hot shower to warm myself and noticed my butt was ice-cold.

- Last week:  left work at 6 pm, commuting on bike.  Got darker and darker during that 10 mile ride.  Rode some local residential road and at some point it was so dark that I couldn't see much except lights from houses.

- Last week:  decided to run for 30 min at 6:30 pm, in the neighborhood that is more well-lit (sidewalk of busier roads with traffic and lights).  Too much fallen leaves and I slipped couple times.  Also where there are more trees blocking the lights, I couldn't see the road.
