what kind of other sports do you guys do? (Page 2)

I was reading several months ago about a kickball league in my area...sounds like a lot of fun, so I may go try that out if they're still around. Remember the feeling when you planted a nice one on that big, red rubber playground ball??? I think they routinely go out for beer afterwards, too. Also want to find the hash house harriers in this area. It's running, but with a different purpose! (beer is the theme here).

Sled dog racing. Keeps me fit in the winter months. My Avatar is my main man saxon.

Golf...although the tri thing has cut into that significantly.  (much to my fathers chagrin) Downhill skiiing...although living in Florida has cut into that significantly.  I need a week of snow a year

You do sled dog racing in Canberra? When was the last time it snowed there? I lived in Melbourne for a year and never saw any and last time I checked a map Melbourne was way farther south than ACT. Are you having us on?

Right now I'm playing fall softball and ice hockey. Trying to get a run in here and there, but am suffering from a little burnout.

The reference is more to do with the type of dogs we race, huskys, malamutes.We use modified scooters on trails. We get snow occasionally. we are also elevated at around 700metres. Snow fields are only 2 hours from us. look at http://www.canberrasleddogclub.com.au

I sport fish for a living and you'd be surprised how exhausting it can be fighting or leadering big fish all day in the hot sun. I also like to free dive. It helps with the swimming. I used to play lacrosse, but I figure at my age, I'll probably get hurt, but I might do it anyway; it'a a killer workout running up and down the field, like interval training. Inline skating from time to time also.

I liked doing Krav Maga but could never stay injury-free long enough from fight class night to stay consistent with my tri-training.

yep.. started around 7 years ago... if anyone watched the "ultimate fighter" on spike last season, i trained at the same school as diego sanchez (one of the guys who won a UFC contract)... jackson's gaidojutsu in albuquerque, nm... i am kind of going into retirement now since having a new baby (makes 4) and momma wants me to chill a bit... she says i can still train, but she doesn't want me to fight anymore... since moving to belgium, i have yet to train in anything (4 months now)... but there is a really good muay thai school in lommel, belgium (15 minutes)... and bas rutten has a freefight school in eindhoven, netherlands, which is just down the road (30 minutes)...

Krav is reall kewl... when i lived in cheyenne, wy... i went a couple of times to the ft collins school and i turned a few people on to krav from my work... they got so into it, they tried to get a consistent class to come up to the base to teach... the first class had around 50 people... it was kewl

and who doesn't love JKD? bruce lee turned so many people onto martial arts... JKD is what got me started in the whole martial arts thing.... when i was younger, my cousin used to teach me how to trap using his wooden dummy

I play golf usually every weekend. Also sports with friends like OZ Tag and tennis. As with everyone else also, when the snow gets going, I love to snowboard. Hanging out at the beach swimming surfing also but that is not so much an organised sport...

Congrats on #4! That's really awesome...I am not home alot with access to Spike, but did catch a few episodes of Ultimate Fighter while on my trainer - good stuff, and I was whining about how my legs burned while pedaling watching these guys get the sh!t beat out of 'em....

Ahhh Bas Rutten! I was lucky enough to train with him during a H2H seminar in Philly a few years ago, he is amazing and quite the character. You'd never think he was so funny and kind by watching him fight, and is a GREAT teacher. Have you gone to his school yet? I have one of his Extreme Pancrease (I think) workout tapes....I feel better after a 1/2 IM than after any of his training workouts .....but I'm not so scared running in new places alone when I travel anymore

Lastly, I keep hearing Bruce Lee is still alive.....??

Paintball now that the weather has cooled down my son and I will be playing every other weekend. Also love to snow ski waiting for the snow in the Seirra Nevada's.

I love to ski and snowboard in the winter (only another month or so to go until ski season!!)

I also take dance classes (usually tap, jazz, or hip hop)
