Pre-race routine:

Stuck in traffic on the way to the race, so there was very little in the way of warm-up. Took one Gu 15 minutes before the start.

Comments:

Run went well. We were trying for 8:30 minute pace, but kept going just a little over that. I hit the wall around 11 miles, but held on and kept all of my miles under nine minutes.

What would you do differently?:

Almost nothing. I would try to hold my pace a little better, but everything went pretty well.

Post race

Warm down:

Lots of stretching and walking around while looking for my friends to finish their race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The Gu wasn't sitting real well in my stomach. Other than that, just the lack of any consistent training prior to my 12 week program.

Very fun race. Beautiful course.
