Subject: What's A good sprint in MI ??
Hello-
I am a newbie and I was wondering what is a good sprint to do as my first! I would prefer to stay in MI...hopefully in May/June

I did my first tri last summer but it was in August.  It was a really good one though - Island Lake in Novi.  Great lake swim with no weeds, nice fairly flat, smooth roads for the biking and a decent out and back run.  It was nice for a first race.  My second tri was Stoney Creek in September.  Another good race.  Sorry I don't know anything about early summer sprints but I am sure one of the other Michiganders will post something.

There a couple of early races. In May there's the Gross Isle Du 5krun 12Kbike 5krun. This a good kick off the season. In June there's the Ann Arbor tri (Sprint).

My favorite so far is Interlochen run by 3 Disciplines. Check out their website for a list of races. www.3disciplines.com

you can also go to www.trifind.com and click on michigan on the left, that will have a list of races in the state.  i think seahorse is in june and has a sprint.
